Good Samaritan Project’s Prevention Services engages in a variety of activities designed to prevent the further spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). To accomplish this goal we offer HIV, chlamydia and gonorrhea testing, condom distribution, and educational interventions with both HIV-positive and HIV-negative individuals.
Good Samaritan Project (GSP) offers free HIV and STI testing during walk-in testing hours, by appointment, and at outreach testing events. Our rapid HIV testing services allow you to receive your HIV test results during your visit with us. Chlamydia and gonorrhea testing require lab processing and results are generally available within two weeks.
Walk-in testing hours are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. GSP is located at 3030 Walnut, Kansas City, MO 64108.
Visit GSP any time during business hours for free condoms, personal lubricant and other safer sex materials. We also distribute condoms at various locations around the Kansas City metropolitan area. Check out www.condomfinder.org to find free condoms near you.
CLEAR (Choosing Life, Empowerment, Action, Results!) is a program designed to help people living with HIV reduce their risk of transmitting HIV to their partners. Clients meet with trained prevention specialists one-on-one for six one-hour sessions either at GSP or in a private location.
Community Presentations on HIV and STI prevention are available upon request. GSP is frequently asked to present in a variety of locations including schools, colleges/universities, professional conferences, and at various community organizations.
PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) is one of the newest HIV prevention tools available. GSP staff provide resources, education, and referrals for PrEP.
If you have any questions about HIV and STIs or would like to learn more about any of the services we provide, please contact GSP at 816-561-8784.
